History

Our Nice View family is growing… On 13 June 2009, we received once again a phone call from the Youth Welfare Office. A newborn cannot stay with his mother and needs to be picked up.

A social worker had been informed that a mother could not take care of her newborn. She lives on the street and it is feared for the safety of the baby. The social worker went to look for the mother and had to witness that the mother administers painkillers to her baby. It had become clear to her that the baby needs immedate help and she informed the Youth Welfare Office.

When the call reached us, we looked immediately for the most necessary things like nappies, clothes and a baby bottle, and Gudrun left right away to pick the baby up.

Only by means of a trick and with support of the police it was possible to separate the disoriented mother from her baby and to take it to Nice View.

The baby is a boy and approximately one week old. We have given him the name Tim. Tim is luckily physically in a very good condition and has only a harmless eye infection. However, the result of the HIV test is still outstanding.

Career

August 2009: Luckily, Tim is HIV negative and a baby that is developed completely normal. He has gained weight and participates in the happenings around him. As Michelle he is a happy baby and laughs a lot.
