Ali is approximately 8 years old and comes originally from Tanzania. The police assumes that he was sold to Kenya and was abandoned once he was not needed or wanted anymore. He was apprehended in Kwale in August 2014 and handed over to the chair of the village elders. After a while the village elder wanted Ali to go to this family in Tanzania whereas Ali wants to stay in Kenya. According to him his parents are drunkards and not in the position to make it possible for him and his two sisters to go to school. Since 21st of May 2015 he is now in Nice View and the Youth Welfare Office is still investigating. The boarder police is involved and it is likely that Ali will be handed over to the authorities in Tanzania.
Ali is not an easy child. Quite clever, cunning and shifty.
January 2016: Ali (called Chichi), who hasn’t been in school before, is still in the kindergarten reception class. His academic capability is recognizable and we assume he will be good pupil. He has a very positive Charisma, is a very gifted dancer and in the meantime we assume that he will stay in Nice View.
November 2019: Although "Chichi" is a conscientious pupil in class 4, he has some catching up to do because he started school late and skipped a few years. He has become a cheerful, bright and confident boy. Chichi is very sporty and can be a sly dog – but a very charming one. Dancing is his big talent.
