RESIDENTIAL PLACE: BANGLADESH
Celestine is a fourth born in a family of five children. The elder sister finished fourth form but does not have any job. She stays at home. The 2nd born is in fourth form in Kisumu—Brian Oduor, 3rd Jenifer Anyango is class Eight in a Public primary school. The last born Bernard Bonke is in class five in the same school with Jenifer.
Celestine comes from a single parent family, the father died in the year 2005 when she was only five years old. Since then, they have been staying with their mother in Bangladesh. Her mother works in an EPZ where she has struggled to educate the other three children to the levels they are. However, as a widow, it is difficult for her to fend for the entire family.
Celestine seems to be a brilliant girl with good academic potentials because she is ahead of her elder sister in class. With her background, with social problems which contribute to her dismal performance, we decided to enroll her in NVGA so that we could help her realize her nursing dream.
Celestine finished the Nice View Gratitude Academy end of 2014 with a very good result (384 A-) and attends since beginning of 2015 a secondary school.
The results 2015 (form 1/class 9): B/B-/B-
Since for the children from outside, mostly from Slum Bangladesh in Mombasa, almost no donations were received and the donations amount in general declined, we had to terminate the support of Celestine end of 2016.
Also in respect that for more and more children of the children’s home the secondary school, the university or the college needs to be financed and not to endanger other sub-projects, this decision was inevitable.
