Over the course of the years an additional plot for a second children’s village was acquired. The 2nd children's village, Nice View II, is approximately 1 km from Nice View I and can be reached quickly and safely by both employees and children alike.
On 26 April 2009 half of the children were moved to Nice View II, our second children’s village. The children that have been moved are the older girls (in school) as well as the small children (in kindergarten) that we did not want to separate.
On 01 November 2009, the older boys followed, and now live in well-equipped rooms in the so-called “well house” up until completion of the “boys’ house”. This move creates urgently required space for further babies and infants in Nice View I and also gives them a large, unisex bathroom to use.
At the moment 46 children live in Nice View I and II, and up until now we could provide a loving home to 55 children, 9 of whom could either return to their families or have reached independence.
In addition, the Nice-View-Gratitude-School with kindergarten, sanitary building, kitchen, lounge and school cafeteria is situated on the newly purchased plot. The well (for an own water supply) as well as the playground are used by the school as well as by the children’s village.
Plans for the future:
- Extension of the school by building further class rooms (almost complete with 5 new classrooms in operation by September 2010)
- Children's house for boys (started construction January 2010)
- House for the youth
The youth house will be constructed to offer the children that have reached independence the opportunity to return to the Nice View family in case of problems. As with all families, our doors are always open, whenever they are in need.
