25 years of Nice View Children's Village

Since the association had limited resources at that time, the first children's home was built on land privately purchased by the Dürr family.

These first children included

  • Mwanasha (who is currently working as a nurse in Germany),
  • her younger brother Haji (who is currently gaining experience outside of Nice View at his own request),
  • Kahindi
  • and sisters Mwanahalima and Fatuma: Mwanahalima is responsible for the cleanliness of the Nice View Clinic. Fatuma worked for a time both at the clinic's reception and in the administration office of the Nice View Trust Foundation, where she helped with accounting, among other things. There, she was able to acquire valuable knowledge and practical experience, which now benefits her as a secretary at a large hotel.

The children were recommended by village elders at the time, and some were in a pitiful state. They were weak and malnourished, dirty, covered in infected wounds, had maggots in their feet, or were plagued by nightmares.

The Kenyan government registered the facility, and the Child Welfare Office soon sent more children in need to Nice View, where they found a loving home. By now, there were nearly 90 children, some of whom were eventually reintegrated into their families.

The Dürr family and the entire Nice View team can be proud of what they have achieved. We offer our heartfelt congratulations and wish them all the best for the future.

We would like to thank all our sponsors, friends, and supporters for their trust and support over the years. ASANTE SANA!
