The tailor's shop

The project's own tailor's shop helps to minimise the expenses for school uniforms and other clothing. African carvings, hand-made bags, shoes and clothes sold in the shop raise awareness for the Nice View Project.

Renting a shop in the village centre did not show the expected success. We could not find reliable staff, as is often the case in Kenya.

For this reason the tailor's shop is now on the premises of the children's village. The pupils walk by everyday and can watch the craft activities. One of the first girls in the children's village has found work here after training at a vocational school.

Although this sub-project has great potential, everything requires plenty of patience in Kenya to develop.
