With the small hospital built and equipped according to European standards we aim to provide reliable medical care for the people living in one of the poorest regions in Kenya.

Having overcome many obstacles, the hospital was opened in 2014 to deliver all kinds of services around basic outpatient treatment. On January 2017, we started our 24-hour medical service. Since then, the Nice View Medical Centre have also offered obstetrics and assisted the births of 50 babies so far.

In 2017 already 4.500 patients could be treated, 6.100 in 2018 and in the first half of 2019 so far almost 4.400.

The hospital's main function is to provide paediatrics and gynaecology, including thorough medical screening, for all groups of the population.

Various Medical Camps have been organised since the opening of the clinic. These are events where Kenyan people receive free medical consultation and treatment. For further information please visit News.

The clinic takes shape

2003

A local physician starts to build a small hospital. However, resources are running short fast, and so only the shells of 3 buildings can be completed. Since we are not satisfied with medical healthcare in Msambweni and cannot accept that poor people don't receive proper treatment, it is one of our most urgent desires to provide basic healthcare in Msambweni, one of the poorest areas of Kenya.

2008

Projekt Schwarz-Weiß e.V. stands ready to support and pursue the clinic project.

2009

After the Kenyan doctor has transferred the hospital premises to the Nice View Trust Foundation, the non-profit association is able to continue the project and the construction work is reassumed. The whole property is enclosed and equipped with a gate. A path that is approximately 700 meters long and 4 meters wide replaces the dirt track that leads to the hospital. The Nice View Medical Centre is situated in the geographical centre of Msambweni.

2010

The dimensions of the hospital become visible. There are various treatment rooms, an aseptic theatre, a non-sterile theatre for minor surgical interventions, a delivery ward, patient areas with wet rooms, a laboratory for numerous blood examinations, etc.

2014

The long search for a qualified clinic management comes to an end. After the initial idea to operate the hospital together with a physician from Msambweni has failed, Gudrun Dürr's daughter takes over. Denise Dürr, who is a trained medical assistant, now leads a team of dedicated clinic staff.
