Update on employee accident

After days of pain, another operation (in which even more parts of the foot have been removed) and inadequate medical care in the State hospital, the transfer was inevitable. Dressing changes and wound care were made without any anaesthesia and the wound was left open for several hours when changing the dressings. He did not receive his antibiotic regularly, although this is very important with injuries like his, and consequently, he got a fever.

After he had been transferred to the Nice View clinic on Saturday, we noticed the next day that some of the tissue on his foot was already getting necrotic. Denise and her team were aware that they had to react immediately. Luckily, one of our employees knows a good surgeon in Nairobi and organised the transfer. On Monday, Mshila was operated in Nairobi and we hope that this will save his foot from amputation.

At this moment, we cannot tell which interventions will be necessary in the future and how much they will cost. We expect medical expenses of several thousand Euros. Therefore, we hope for your assistance. Please indicate "Employee Accident" as intended use to help Mshila. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
