The group of heroes was founded by R, who actually studies teaching at the university. This is about offering tutoring to weaker students and motivating them to do their best.
This project was started by Anne (childcare worker). A short summary:
Subjects:
• Keep the environment clean and green
• Raise awareness of natural herbal drinks that improve health
• Create an organic garden
Fortunately, the corona virus has not yet spread to Msambweni on the South Coast of Kenya, where the children's village is located. However, the children are still in isolation in the children's village and the schools might not reopen before the end of the year.
With the small hospital built and equipped according to European standards we aim to provide reliable medical care for the people living in one of the poorest regions in Kenya.
Since we would like to expand the range of services offered by the clinic, it would be great if we could offer accommodation to doctors who are on standby or doctors who support us in Kenya. Therefore we would like to finish their accommodation possibility.
Dr. Auma Obama, Chairperson of the Auma Obama Foundation Sauti Kuu (www.sautikuufoundation.org), visited the projects of the Nice View Trust Foundation together with her daughter Akinyi Obama-Manners.
The children of the Nice View Children's Village and the Nice View Trust Foundation in Kenya wish their godparents, friends and supporters Happy Easter and hope that you all stay healthy! They also thank you for not forgetting them.
Mshila is currently at home for 6 weeks. The tendon was successfully repaired and the skin transplanted. In the meantime, a plate has already been inserted and bones have been wired (pieces of bone are missing).
The corona virus has unfortunately also reached Kenya. The government responded immediately. Schools, universities, hotels, restaurants, etc. are closed and the distance rule applies.
Nine years have passed since the film team visited Nice View in 2011. Petra Hölge, Torsten Winkler & Holger Schüppel once again accompanied the life and development of the projects on the south coast of Kenya with the camera .... Here is a foretaste .....
After the surgery in Nairobi, Mshila's wound was treated with vacuum sealing for 8 days – originally a 3-day treatment was prescribed, then another 5 days were added. Today the wound looks quite good, but another skin graft as well as a tendon repair will be necessary.
A container, presumably the last one, is to be shipped to Kenya this year to deliver urgently needed aid supplies and hopefully also new batteries as well as a battery inverter for the solar system.
On February 10, a terrible accident occurred in Kenya. Mshila, a Nice View employee since the early days of the 20-year-old children's village, injured his foot very badly while cutting down trees.
In January 2020 the FLMH team from Berlin, Germany, visited the Nice View Gratitude Academy for the second time. As in 2019, students were actively supported for one week to learn how to work with different media as "Nice View Reporters".
End of November Marcel contacted us to ask if we could shoot a new image film for the website as well as some promotional clips about the Nice View clinic and school. He also wanted English versions that would be posted on Facebook in Kenya for instance.
Unfortunately, the creation of new and especially the copying of the existing content took more time than originally thought. We still have to work on the English version in particular and hope for your understanding.
